softrun works when people try it. The problem is that the people who need it most —someone with a best man speech in three weeks, a comic with an open mic on Tuesday,a founder pitching on Friday — do not know it exists. You will fix that. This is thefirst marketing hire, and the role is the whole funnel: how people find us, what theyread, what they click, and what happens in the first ten minutes after they sign up.

What you will do

  • Own organic. We have a cluster of landing pages (speeches, stand-up, alternatives) written for search and for answer engines. You will decide what gets written next, keep the pages honest, and grow the traffic they bring.

  • Run paid. Google Ads and Microsoft Ads are live with small budgets. You will own the accounts, the creative, the conversion tracking, and the decision about where the next dollar goes.

  • Own the stores. The iPhone and Android listings — screenshots, copy, keywords, reviews — are a channel, and today nobody owns them.

  • Write the newsletter. A few emails a year to people who signed up but have not paid, and to people who rehearsed once. You will decide what those emails say and measure whether they work.

  • Build the loop. Every run someone does in softrun is a chance to ask for a review, a share, a referral. You will design those moments with the founder.

  • Report honestly. Weekly: what moved, what did not, what we should stop doing.

What we are looking for

  • You have grown a consumer or prosumer software product from small numbers, and you can show what you did and what happened.

  • You can write. Landing pages, ads, emails, a store listing. Clear sentences, no filler.

  • You are comfortable in the analytics yourself — GA4, Search Console, an ads console, a SQL query when the dashboard does not answer the question.

  • You have run SEO in the last two years and understand how answer engines have changed it.

  • You are happy owning outcomes with a small budget and no agency.

Nice to have

  • Experience marketing to performers, speakers, or anyone with a date on the calendar they are nervous about.

  • Video. Short demos of the product are the ad creative that works, and being able to make them yourself removes a bottleneck.

  • App-store optimisation experience on either store.

What the first three months look like

Month one: read everything, use the product, audit every channel, pick the two thatmatter. Month two: ship a real change in each of those two channels and instrumentit. Month three: a written plan for the next six months that you own, with numbers.
