The Growth Marketing Manager is responsible for driving audience and subscriber growth across the Chief Marketer Network — a portfolio of B2B brands including Chief Marketer, Event Marketer, CFX, AdExchanger, Cynopsis, PRNEWS, and LeadsCon. This role owns the growth strategy across the full CMN audience funnel: driving paid subscriber acquisition, retention, and revenue for two subscription products (CFX and Event Marketer), and growing ad-supported e-newsletter and social media audiences network-wide, and The ideal candidate is a metrics-driven marketer who can operate at the portfolio level while executing with precision at the brand level — and who thrives at the intersection of audience development, lifecycle marketing, and data-driven experimentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Paid Subscription Growth & Acquisition Owns subscriber acquisition strategy and execution for CFX and Event Marketer paid subscription products, with clear KPIs around new subscriber volume, CAC, and trial-to-paid conversion
Develops and executes campaigns to drive paid subscriptions, including email, SEO-driven content, paid media, and referral programs
Manages and optimizes conversion-focused landing pages, paywalls, and upgrade prompts
Identifies and tests new acquisition channels and audience segments in partnership with editorial and product teams
Retention & Lifecycle Marketing Manages the full subscriber lifecycle — from onboarding and activation through renewal and win-back — for CFX and Event Marketer paid subscription products, and drives engagement and retention across free newsletter audiences network-wide
Develops and executes email and in-product lifecycle programs to improve engagement, reduce voluntary churn, and recover involuntary churn (failed payment flows, dunning sequences)
Builds and manages audience segmentation strategies across both paid and free audiences to proactively identify at-risk subscribers and intervene
Partners with editorial and event teams to surface exclusive subscriber value and drive loyalty
Network-Wide Audience Growth Owns audience growth strategy across the full Chief Marketer Network, setting goals and executing programs to grow engaged audiences at the portfolio level and within individual brands
Develops and executes multi-channel campaigns to grow digital newsletter subscribers across CMN brands including AdExchanger, Chief Marketer, Cynopsis, PRNEWS, and LeadsCon, with a focus on quality, engagement, and list health
Drives social media audience growth across CMN brand channels through organic and paid social strategies
Identifies and tests cross-brand promotional opportunities to expand reach and move audiences across the CMN portfolio
Partners with the audience analytics team to review network-wide audience metrics — including newsletter subscriber counts, open and click rates, list health, and social follower growth — and translates those insights into actionable growth initiatives
Applies AI tools to accelerate campaign planning, content drafting, audience segmentation, and performance analysis — using them as a force multiplier for execution without sacrificing brand voice or strategic judgment
Designs and executes A/B tests across acquisition campaigns, email programs, and conversion flows to continuously improve performance
Conducts cohort analysis to understand how different audience and subscriber segments engage and retain over time
Partners with the audience analytics team on audience and subscription performance data across the CMN portfolio — including free audience growth, MRR, churn rate, LTV, and conversion rates — and uses those insights to inform and prioritize growth initiatives
Content, Brand & Design Maintains and applies each brand's voice and positioning across marketing channels; writes and edits copy for email, landing pages, promotional materials, and social channels
Develops and maintains audience personas for CMN brands, using those profiles to inform targeting, messaging, and channel strategy; writes and adapts copy that reflects each brand's distinct voice — ensuring that each brand feels editorially distinct across all marketing channels
Works with editorial teams to amplify and repurpose content to support acquisition and retention goals across both paid and free audiences
Handles light design work for marketing materials using Canva; collaborates with the in-house design team on larger or more complex creative projects
Skills & Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in growth, audience development, or subscription marketing, ideally within a B2B media, publishing, or information services environment
Experience managing audience growth across multiple brands or products simultaneously
Demonstrated experience owning paid subscription metrics including MRR, churn, LTV, and conversion rates
Strong analytical skills; comfortable working in email marketing platforms, audience management systems, and analytics tools
Experience designing and running A/B tests and lifecycle programs across email and digital channels
Strong copywriting skills across promotional, subscription, and lifecycle contexts
Demonstrated proficiency with AI marketing tools — applied experience using AI for copy generation, audience research, segmentation, or campaign planning in a real marketing context, not just familiarity
Familiarity with Canva and ability to collaborate with an in-house design team
Genuine curiosity about the marketing, media, and events industries served by the Chief Marketer Network
