Position Title: Technical SEO Specialist

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (3-Month Initial Term)

Location: Remote / Hybrid

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical SEO Specialist to join our growing digital marketing team. In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Director and support a variety of technical, development, and search optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to new client onboarding to ensure website technical health is thoroughly audited and addressed.
  • Handle client requests across a wide variety of WordPress website environments, collaborating closely with management and account teams for timely implementation.
  • Review website projects to support smooth, successful launches and post-launch processes.
  • Implement internal and client feedback across new and existing web projects.
  • Execute technical tasks across various WordPress setups to directly improve client KPIs, page speed, and organic performance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • HTML & CSS: Comfortable writing raw HTML and CSS code from scratch without reliance on AI tools.
  • WordPress Mastery: Hands-on experience working with various WordPress configurations and the Gutenberg editor.
  • Page Builders: Proven experience with at least one major page builder (e.g., Elementor).
  • Dedicated Hosting: Experience managing and navigating sites on dedicated WordPress hosts (e.g., WP Engine, SiteGround, BlueHost).
  • SEO Fundamentals: Solid understanding of technical SEO health, PageSpeed optimization, and on-page best practices.
  • Web Design Principles: Understanding of fundamental design principles including color contrast, typography, and brand consistency.
  • Programming Concepts: Conceptual understanding of JavaScript and PHP (coding from scratch in these languages is not required).

Preferred Qualifications & Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing domains and DNS configurations.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting SMTP configurations.
  • Hands-on experience migrating WordPress websites from one host to another.
  • Familiarity with Zapier or connecting lead generation platforms to CRMs.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics (reports, key events), Google Search Console (indexing, Core Web Vitals, structured data), and Google Tag Manager (tags and triggers).
  • Basic understanding of Chrome DevTools and code editors such as VS Code.
  • Experience working with graphic editing software (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity).
